Short CV
I was born in Barcelona, in 1963. I received my Telecommunication Engineer degree in 1986 and my PhD degree in Mathematics in 1994, both from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. I was a lecturer in the Department of Applied Mathematics IV at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya from 1986 to 1997. I'm an associate professor in the same department since 1997.
For a long time, my research focused on Cryptology. I belonged to the Research Group on Mathematics Applied to Cryptography. My main interests were mainly in Public Key Cryptography.
I was formerly a member of the Research Group on Graph Theory and Combinatorics in the same department from 1986 to 1994. I began my research activities in this group as a PhD student. At that time, I was also interested in some aspects of experimental solid state physics as non linearity measurements in piezoceramic materials, applications of the piezoelectric transformer to energy conversion and conductivity and thermoelectric power measurements in transition metal oxides and high Tc superconductors.
Very recently I moved back to more applied research. Namely, I'm currently interested in the characterization of electronic devices for water and air pollution detection and removal. Electrical Impedance Spectrum data explotation is quite challenging, because it requires some dedicated data processing techniques and it could also benefit from Machine Learning methods.
